there's a set fee we can buy him back for if they decide to sell him, the other stating we get to match any fee accepted for him. I'd be more inclined to think it's the first version, because the second clause is essentially meaningless in an era where clubs like City or Chelsea could make bids that we wouldn't match.

I reckon we can buy him back for what we sold him for.

and that we also get a very good % of any profit on the original price if we decide not to sign him... so if Man U bid £40m barca would actually get more money if they accepted a £35m bid from us as they wouldn't pay the % over to us
