whipping boy for the usual panellists into a rather subtly intelligent, self-deprecatingly witty and ultimately sympathetic persona, thus rather brilliantly subverting the simplistic "Let's laugh at ver fick toff' expectations of the sort of half-bright, reflexively left-leaning mouth-breathers who presumably make up the programme's core audience.
