I am ten minutes in and already feel the compulsion to blind myself ala Oedipus or put rocks in my pockets and go the Virginia Woolf way. It's like a f**king car accident, I am strangely fascinated by the utter contingency of the life-world I am thrown into.

This is the movie's synopsis:
"Three college cheerleaders (and after-school go-go dancers) use their martial arts skills to save their Sensei from mafia kidnappers, but must keep their extracurricular activities a secret to realize their Ivy League dreams at Brown."

When something this banal and insulting is considered 'entertainment' in our society, it really does bear witness to the profound and ostensibly inextricable postmodern condition.

How do we get out of this ****? By posting our lamentations and indignation online?
