If I just shove it in a postbox will they return it to the address on the card? This happened to me and I received it back in an envelope with a 'with compliments' sticker from the Royal Mail.

Alternatively, how can I sell it on the black market?

I go to work before the post office opens. I come home well after it has closed. I take 5 minutes for lunch in which I go to the Sainsbury's over the road to buy a sandwich.

This chap has been negligent (willfully or otherwise). I should not have to pay for this.

On an occasion where I have made a similar mistake, the offending driving license was returned to be by the postal service, seemingly free of charge.
