But can't do it without recording the game as well, which I don't like to do in case I jinx us, but I like the build up to the cup, so what do I do?

Also ITV or BT sport ?

the preamble then switch to ITV for the match to avoid Michael monotone Owen (and possibly David bankrupt James). In the unlikely event of poor weather ITV picture likely to be better if watching through Sky HD box as they have put BT right on the edge of the spectrum.

I have to pay extra for BT Sport
Once I sky+ it I can't stop it
I'm stuck with either or all of them whatever one I record

So 5 hours of build up on BT then the 4-5 hours ITV depending on if we need extra time and penalties!
