Why is it, when someone gets caught being racist, they immediately then say that they're not racist.

In fact, not just not racist, but appalled by the very idea of it?

That LA Clippers owner is the latest one. How, if you're not racist, where you caught telling a female friend not to associate with black people?

And then why do a load of black people then say that everyone in anyway connected to the racist have to be punished, to? As if it's some sort of hereditary thing?

I don't understand people at the best of times. And this isn't the best of times.

He made an ill-advised comment, but if you actually consider his train of thought behind what he said, one could argue that in America (amongst other countries), blacks represent a stereotype of many sorts of crime. A stereotype which he probably doesn't want to tar his sports club (not sure what sport this is).

Now, that prejudice is not a good one to hold, but he is probably just looking after his brand. It doesn't necessarily mean that he believes that stereotype is true, just that he knows others think that and wants to protect his interests.

We shouldn't jump to conclusions without knowing what he is like as a person.
