View Full Version : I see some Liverpool fans saying that Man City bought the league. Seeing as BR has spend £60M (net)

While not having any money from European competition coming in, aren't they quite close to not having the moral high ground on that?

City have spent a billion pounds.

to spend money imo... their wages will be a lot less than ours so do we have the right to take the moral high ground all the time?

in the top 4. No Europe and out of both cups fairly early.

No wonder they looked fresher than their rivals for most of the second half of the season.

much.

For the sake of simple accounting, if we count all wins as 3pts (Europe, Cups, etc) I don't see why Brendan Rogers is the second coming and Wenger is a nearly man in the eyes of the Media.

The JBear

do they? I don't think anyone out of the current 'big clubs' has any particular moral high ground over another.

For 4-5 years is quite high actually. I believe it's around the £135m mark. Ours is £155m

Over the course of 38 matches, that ain't a lot. Had Suarez been injured instead of Ramsey...

No doubting that Liverpool had a season way beyond expectations, so fair play to them. However, it doesn't make Rogers a genius any more than last season's disaster made him a clown.

Don't quote me though, I can't be sure.

So they're not exactly spending money they've generated. Between 2011-2013 they've had loses totalling £90m. They'd probably be in breach of the FFP rules now.

Its all just bitterness at failure so they'll clutch at any straw to demean the achievements of the winners.

Rightly or wrongly it's this speculate to accumulate model that brings success to a club, seems to me you have to get on board or fall off the pace.

Next season Arsenal have got some interesting decisions to make. With the massive increase in CL money kicking in for the following year more clubs will be fighting even harder (i.e spending even more) for the 4th place 'trophy'.
If we don't kick on we stand a very real chance of joining Man U in the 'also ran' strata.

If you look at the stats our players played a similar amount of games as theirs on the whole.....

that sees us battling for the bronze medals rather than competing for gold.

Imagine this season with two world class strikers and Giroud & Podolski to back them up...

and we played the same number of Capital one cup games and since we knocked them out of the FA Cup, we will play three more in that competition

same number of games in LC
2 more games in fa cup (by season's end, obviously we still have the final to come)
8 more games in CL

As I pointed out, check the stats, players played pretty much same number of games. So kinda pisses on your 'freshness of players' nonsense
