USA - the world's most capitalistic country, has strict rules for fair economic competition in sports. European football is not. Man City are cheating. It is amazing how UEFA can allow this to go on.

If Citeh are cheating so are PSG

the interests of a cartel of powerful and very rich clubs and ensure European football remains a closed shop. *******s, eh

They may win the league but it was Liverpool to drop points that has led to this situation.

Could have easily just ended up with the league cup.

Chelsea trophyless season.

We are frustratingly only a few points away from being top of the table too :furious:

I miss them being in the top flight.

They are probably the only team in the country with a better right back already.
I know it's a squad game but having two 30 year old right backs on a huge wage seems ,well, unnecessary.
Especially when it leaves us with Jenkinson as our only right back :-|

CL, they must include 8 home grown players, 4 of which must have been trained at the club.

I hope they breach the regulations again next year too. These punishments will eventually stop them. Just a question of when.

they're tempted With huge salaries we cannot match? Salaries paid with money from an Abu Dhabi billionaire who plays FIFA manager with live people and does not have any intention whatsoever of running a solid economic business?

on that City would overpay. Now they are not happy that City spending money.

Only suits them when they want.

It's now beginning to look like I was right all along.

Things will change, Fash. It will take a few years. I assure you things will change in our favour, though. Don't know by how much, but they will.

The clubs will just pay the fines.

Plus this fine will be overturned anyway.

and will certainly hurt them in the Champions League. They also have a wage cap on their CL squad.

Just as Chelsea did last season, they will not be able to spend mega bucks this summer without selling players as well.

Of course, the fact that that will mean Uefa weakening its own competition is neither here nor there - leaving aside the legal implications

means that they will have to accept any punishment thrown at them.

The vast, vast majority of top clubs are in full support of the rules and they will therefore ultimately be supported by UEFA.

What do you think would happen when a journalist asked UEFA why they never enforced FFP after investing millions of Euros over several years? They aren't just going to shrug their shoulders.

Obviously City and PSG have the option of settling fines in the next week or so. However, the CL squad restriction will stay in place.

City are far from the best team in the competition and will still be able to field a team of superstars.

It's just injuries and suspensions could mean they have to play the kids that have to be in their squad now.

Hit the animals until they learn is the motto here, I feel.

f**king WW2 :furious:

Could possibly have been the biggest club in the world historically if it wasn't for that bloody war. :shout:

Nasri said he wanted to play for a better team and his move was for sporting reasons only. It's connected though, isn't it? City are better because they can attract better palyers with their huge salaries.

There's a lot of cynicism, particularly with Arsenal fans about FFP but when one looks at the picture holistically it's quite clear that these punishments will hurt.

And if they do it again next season, the punishment will be more severe next time around. Mark my words.

As a result they probably have their least competitive squad in years and have been forced into playing ugly to win.

Luis Anaconda

they spent a fortune but the money from the Champions League win (that would be that weakened squad :hehe:) and an one off payment from BskyB pushed them into the black. Nice try though

As a grand old rich club we may have refused to do business with the immoral cheaters and dopers. You know, set an example.
