Hull's David Meyler faces being banned for the FA Cup Final for an apparent stamp on Adnan Januzaj.

Meyler is set to be hit with a FA charge after his challenge on the Manchester United star late in Tuesday's 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford was missed by the officials and Ryan Giggs branded it “a joke”.

“I didn’t see it, but I saw his leg,” said United’s caretaker boss. “That’s the second time this has happened to him this season [there was a similar incident in November, involving Fulham's Sascha Riether].

“It’s not great to see; it’s terrible, his leg. He needs protecting and the authorities need to stamp down on it. It’s a joke.

“He’s not cut into the skin, but you can see the mark from his knee to his ankle.”

Hull boss Steve Bruce said: “I don’t really know what the TV shows. I can’t really comment, because I haven’t seen it yet.”
