My early take is that it will result in:
2-3 year deals.
Elimination of transfer fees.
Which will likely devalue football development - for instance, how is Southampton's business model going to survive when they can't command a fee for the next Walcott, Bale, Shaw, Ox...etc. How will they continue to fund their youth academy?
Lack of transfer fees will further widen the gap between the rich and not-rich clubs much less the poor ones.
This gives more power and therefore more money to the players, but at a cost to the fans. Will force smaller clubs to raise ticket prices and "player loyalty" will decrease even further.
Puts another brick down in the cobblestone road leading to a European Superleague.
(Hint to Arab Shiekhs...buy Celtic, Porto, Ajax, or Benfica...not any club in England, Spain, Italy or France. I take petrodollars.)
