Reading some of the many comments on the Guardian match blog last night, Liverpool do seem to unite

fans of Everton, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs. The spectre of them winning the league seems to be universally agreed to be utterly terrible.

Of course, many/most of those teams all hate each other anyway, for various reasons but there is something quite specifically objectionable about Liverpool.

I think that modd, in his drunken and a little bit excessive exuberance last night, had tuned into this zeitgeist.
