Atletico play very similar style to Chelsea in terms of being very strong defensively but they proved they can play away and win with good strong football, without any automobiles in this century.

Parking the bus I was referring to Sunday and Atletico away, not tonight

Really didn't understand Jose's starting XI tonight.

Bizarre.

Unlike that utter **** he endured us to in the Atletico leg and when he came to our gaff.

I don't really understand the irrational dislike of 'parking the bus' because it's Chelsea and Mourinho.

It certainly backfired tonight but there's no problem in regularly doing it in big games, imo.

squads in the world, with great attacking players; clubs like Real and Atletico proved this week that you can win without playing total defensive football

It's a bit of an old cliche as Sacchi's milan effectively ended that era in the mid 80s.

I expect Mourinho will find the right mix soon enough and everyone will stop on about this inane 'anti-football' narrative that they supposedly possess.

Mugged their way to the final in USA 94 before it rightly backfired on him. Had the best player in the world at his disposal and threw a straight jacket on him.

Here you go, that's their set up. Hardly Helenio Hererra's 1960s Inter side.

I always got the feeling it was the weight of expectation which weighed the tricky transcendental trequartista down.

This was the point I was suggesting, anyway.

Chelsea and Mourinho possess some wonderful attacking players and also play some wonderful attacking football.

Why this must get lost every time, god forbid, a manager adopts defensive tactics, is baffling to me.

I actually remember GG likening Eddie McGoldrick to him. That's when I knew it was all over for him. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/ohwell.gif

or, for that matter, how Eddie McGoldrick could be a footballer.

Mind you, I was there in Liege.

Less of a team and more of an early sexual experience for me.

And in my defence, I was into obscure footballing insignificance long before it was briefly cool and subsequently lampooned by everybody forever after.
