although, as I said below, his passing for the 1st 20 minutes against Hull was terrible and then he found his mojo and was excellent thereafter

Arteta in possession and pressingup on the back four. Hull unsettled us the way the others did. Difference is that they lacked the quality to take advantage and left themselves vulnerable on the break.

Our midfield need to give arteta a bit more help. Too often when the ball is knocked into him the others push on and lesve him with few options when he is pressed.

Naturally, it would be better if we didn't concede half a dozen goals early doors but I think ultimately we want to show a sort of measured patience, like the best European sides do. Rather than the fast start/run out of steam thing that British sides are often associated with.
