aside from the lack of CL revenue, the team needs of 6 or 7 new players, who they'll have to compete with City, Chelsea, PSG, Monaco, Liverpool and us with. Then they'll have to pay Rooney wages to attract those players

Even if we didn't make CL, the team we have (if stayed fit, a huge if, I know) should still be of a good enough quality to challenge

depending on clauses

£100m but definitely not £150m or £200m, especially given the lack of CL revenue. That's already a £50m hole in their revenue for next season.

And who they appoint as manager.

Meaning they can't qualify for CL. That has to have been the trigger for doing it now and not before.

It seems odd to change both, imo.

No1 choice from the fans...would be foolish to mug them off IMO.....would surely be in an even worse way if the revenue from the fans fell

They are carrying a lot of past it/not good enough players and players that clearly donn't want to be there:
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evans
Buttner
Evra
RvP
Jones (I said he was average right from the start, future England captain :hehe: )
Smalling
Cleverley

the fact everyone was terrified of him including refs helped, no chance Liverpool would have got 3 pens at OT if he'd still be there
