View Full Version : Surely there's not a single Arsenal fan who doesn't at least *suspect* that

we may have sustained our title challenge had we not had so many injuries?

had The Arsenal done that this season, we'd have won it already imo

Trying to eliminate its obvious existence is is rather futile, don't you think?

P.S. Congratulations on becoming a dad

The kid is now a man and ready to assert himself.

In fact history will show that his supposed "short term" injury that turned into a season ender precipitated Arsene's medical challenge.

not excusing anything here, but to me it seemed like he would be back , then two days later the ultimate verdict.

You wanted Defoe as well? for 30 million and a 5 year 90,000 a week contract?

so answer straight up as I did. Don't be an ass.

having collected such a large and interchangeable division of midfielders. Since our form fell away in the new year, all we've wanted to talk about is injuries. Almost as though, in fact, only two or three of those mids were actually worth a damn in the first place :homer:

the field of play.
However the medical team did not say he was out short-term, did they?

We lost four midfielders at the same time this year.
That is hard to recover from surely.

a combination of injury prone players (Diaby, Rosicky, Gibbs, Wilshire) and a lack of quality in the squad to cover for it - ultimately means that we play our top players when they have niggles or are too tired and make it more likely they will pick up a longer term injury - just like Ramsay did

I agree that Walcott was the one that hurt us the most - I don't rate him as world class because he isn't a natural footballer, but we've missed his pace, allowing other teams to pressure us in our own half with less concerns about us counter attacking

one thing I saw in today's game is just how good Ozil could be for us with the right players around him - he controls the ball so quickly and can change the direction of the attack in an instant

He has to be given a chance at some point with Arsenal.

Why focus on the 'what ifs' when the better question is why do we always have so many injuries?

Peter

A problem in midfield because all of our midfielders were having to play in every game to cover the loss of all four wide forwards.

I particularly mentioned ramsey and ozil and was told i was talking rubbish. According to wenger, ramsey is one of the fittest players in the squad.

Not saying intold you so, just that, you know, i did mention it. The squad was a little light in places and we knew we would have a problem at that some stage.

and we won nothing in those 4 years.

Since then we have been enduring injury after injury. It has been going on for so long that it cannot be put down to bad luck or anything silly like that. there has to be a fundamental cause. The injuries are a consequence of our problems, not a cause.
