I learned long ago that the fact that not everyone likes The Beatles means there is no common aesthetic driver in humans, which in turn points to the vast complexity and uniqueness of the human brain and mind.

Of course, those people who claim to like 'all music' probably don't really like any music at all. It would be like supporting 'all football teams'.

Amongst my other black musical friends are swing, ska, jazz, and also a bit of reggie and Motown.

An african drummer once came up to me at a gig and told me I had the 'rhythm of a black man', which I thought was a somewhat racist thing of him to say but took it as a compliment anyway.
