for is discreet pleasure. The kind of reaction you might have if you were in a room full of people and were told you were the only one who didn’t have cancer.

would feel like celebrating an over-the-top, expensive, self-indulgent wedding whose grandiosity is not in line with its inherent value.

I like the FA Cup.

I expect that I will celebrate any goals with my customary enthusiasm. Football is about scoring goals.

I too will celebrate any goals we may score. But I will do so in in the manner I would for a fifth goal in a routine victory against a lower league team in the early stages of the Rumbelows Cup. Anything else is simply unbecoming.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

Have I ever been unpleasant to you?

You're only hurting yourself with this behaviour. Consider the sake of your soul, for all love!

Your mum's clients used to interfere with you, didn't they? Would you like a hug?

compared to other sports, and we want our pound of flesh.

I think we both agree that only 'winning' goals should be met with actual pandemonium.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

b is quite capable of changing a wheel. He's quite the expert around motor cars these days. We spent last weekend rebuilding the top end on a Lotus twin-cam 1600.

Ashberto

I don't believe he'll stay if he doesn't do both. Whatever happens, I want us to win the thing for him, and for our players.

This is not just a trinket in between or on top of regular league titles. It would mean much, much more than those.

Peter

Irrelevant. Why celebrate when you know it is about to be cancelled out.

A last minute goal, yes, particularly these days. Otherwise i reserve wild celebrations for final whistles.

Peter

Not one of them has ever won snything with us. That has to hurt.

Ashberto

can't even explode with joy at a goal. Of course a goal is not a win, but that misses the point. A goal is a goal. It's like sex.
