Clegg took a helluva beating. I see that Milliband went to the socialist playbook and wants Ol' Nige banned from future debates. Typical.

I reckon you'd be a bit ambivalent about my mate Vladimir Ilyich St Hubbins

Tory votes in the south-east and London, whereas UKIP is unlikely to make much impact on Labour seats in the North, Wales etc

along with Alastair, Giles and Rupert.

I don't like Colin, and any variation of Ian. The rest are neutral to me.

C'mon even you, Popester, have to enjoy it when Nigel rips into Van Rumpuy.

Tories. A sizable chunk of their traditional vote will go to UKIP and the unfairness of the first-past-the-post system mean that UKIP itself will struggle to get a single seat even if they get 10% of the vote.

The most recent research on UKIP, which I'm privy to and I don't think you are, is that the nature of their support is changing. Whilst their natural constituency has been eurosceptic/anti immigration Tories, they have consistently targeted working class, poorly educated voters in regions which hold 'clusters' of marginal Labour seats. For example, the East Anglian coastal regions which typically have traditional Tory voters, a large swell of low income blue collar voters who sympathise with anti European/immigration politics and low levels of graduate, aspiring middle class voters who tend to reject UKIPs politics. The logic at work here is that there are just as many non Tory voters who are both anti EU and anti immigration, as there are Tory ones. Many of them Labour voters. Miliband knows that the friction in the Tory party over Europe, has for many years obscured the deep divisions in his own party. He also knows that getting embroiled in debates about Europe and immigration has the potential to alienate what he sees as natural Labour voters.

So I think you are wrong!
