I ended up on the centre seat of a three seater both on the flight from Perth to Singapore, and from Singapore to Copenhagen. And on both flights I ended up with an overgenerously proportioned salad dodger blocking the aisle next to me. Total flight time was 17 hours. Man, we could hardly get the armrest down between us!! And I had to wake these lumps of lard up every time I needed to stretch my legs. They were actually nice people, but fat people also perspire - a lot.

I can confirm that none of the planes I have done this on have crashed.

If you can get it down, they are technically only occupying one seat. More pertinent is whether they should be charged for the excess weight they bring on board.

Another solution would be to group fat people together so they see how much they are f**king up other people with their lard.

I always wondered what it would be like to live in Perth knowing that outside of that area you won't see other people for well over 1000km. Looks quite lovely with a wonderful climate but.....

as we approached our seats my wife whispered in Norwegian: "how us this possible..." And I went "shhheeeeeet". The chap was talk, fat and dark. Then he smiles and starts talking Norwegian. Turned out he was half Nog half Arab.
