View Full Version : I became embroiled in the issues of a vagrant on Saturday.

He looked terribly sad, so I suggested that however bad today seemed, tomorrow would be better, and so on. He perked up a bit, shook my hand, and then started kissing it. This moved me to give him some money. The decent bottle of claret I had just imbibed over lunch and attendent feelings of well-being moved me to make this rather a lot of money, which moved him to stand and attempt to embrace me.

He was northern.

It's like overfeeding one's goldfish imo. An easy mistake for the kindhearted to make.

I don't wish to think about it too carefully.

Some multiples of twenty. Probably under a hundred.

He sort of shufflingly chased me down the street shouting "Gawd bless yer guv" in a pleasingly Dickensian manner. But he kept touching me with his vagrantness. :-(

I'll ready my rags and throw some soot on my face.

Preferably multiples of ten, please.

lined the pockets of a dealer somewhere. Probably not the first time either.

He hates decent working people with a passion, clearly.

It's crucial to retain perspective, I think.

it's a no-brainer really, isn't it?

chap who looks to give a sob story to kindly, generous, slightly squiffy, well-to-do people who have recently emerged from a good lunch, I'd probably choose Conduit Street as my location, too.

Just saying.
