much as he seems the obvious choice as far as "big names" go he still has 4 years left on his Dortmund contract and seems like he sees out his contracts.
I keep seeing Martinez and Pochettino mentioned. I thought Martinez was overrated at Wigan but he's done very very well with Everton, so maybe he would be a good choice.
Anyone who mentions Dragan Stojković can get f**ked.

But while Sir Alex Ferguson had a major influence on David Moyes’ appointment at Manchester United last summer following his retirement, Wenger insists he will play no part in such a decision at Arsenal.
“I have told you many times, it is not my job to show, to choose who will follow me after, when I leave one day,” he said.

Otherwise we'd overloaded with defensive midfielders (whatever they are) and top top top drawer strikers.
Anywhichways Silent Stan would have to be an Idiot by that Logic..

I would almost advocate bringing back Dein as a consultant for such a task.

fans anyway - unless he picked the Sherwood/****tingham dream team. Besides there is a difference between having the support of the fans and actually paying attention to their opinions

pick up the biggest name on the list. He will be under pressure to deliver a big name. He is no Dein to pick up a Manager from a non-descript League ..
Mind you his stock is not high amongst a good section of the Arsenal Fans..
