Travelled with the team to the hotel in Manchester today. Mysteriously the head chef has pulled out of the trip leaving him in charge. He is a masssssssive Man United fan.

We went to Napoli é, a little pizzeria in Westerham that I used to frequent many years ago. Same menu, same pizza, lovely.

The sad thing is that 15 years ago the pizzas were sensational, like nothing you could get anywhere else in UK in my experience. They're now just as good, but, of course, you can get proper Italian pizza at places like Rosso Pomodoro now, so it loses some of its impact.

It was a weekend for visiting old places and old friends. Flew into North Weald and into Headcorn to go visiting. Same people, same stuff going on. On a couple of occasions I picked up conversations that were rudely interrupted 10 years ago with no one batting an eyelid.

Sounds a lovely weekend. I spent mine corralling children and feeding my parents.

It really was lovely. 10 years down the road and it's like, all of a sudden, I've got the missing bits of my life back.

Although there is the possibility that those elements of your life didn't so much go missing as you exiled yourself from them.
