View Full Version : I got asked for ID in the supermarket yesterday. It seriously annoys me when they do this.

Either do it to all customers all of the time. Or not at all.

I am nearly 32, some 14 years older than the legal age to buy alcohol.

As some will say 'take it as a compliment' Any one with half a brain can see I am not under 18.

Let's see.
For starters. I am dressed in business clothes. (could be mistaken for school uniform)
I have a beard (lots of kids are early growers)

The type of shopping I am buying are not typically teenage purchases. Food and other household items.

Do you really think I would go to that much trouble to buy all these items just to sneak a bottle of wine through.

What annoys me the most is the check out bloke looks about 12.

They get off on doing this don't they?

but look I am paying by credit card. You should be 18 to have one.

Nah nah nah that's not good enough.

Plus I am going grey FFS :furious: I've never seen a 17 year old kid with grey hair.

However, the blanket carding thing in the states really f**ks me off. Are they really so mind-bendingly thick that they can't use their discretion enough not to card people of 40-plus?

liquor store they'd get arsey.

But you can stroll in to a casino without any questions and gamble and have free drinks.

Vegas I went a few times too.

One guy asked me for ID I said I didn't have any. He said just look like you are showing me something. Then he pointed to the CCTV above his head.

Next day there was this annoying woman but she wasn't having it. and couldn't buy anything.
I know I should have brought something with me but I kept all that **** in the safe.

The next day I went back there was the same woman. do you have any ID? yes I do here we go. Passports driving licences you name it to piss her off.

drink and getting ID'd. I wouldn't have minded, but I probably looked about 70 at that point.
