Based on reactions around him. I actually think refs end up doing this quite a lot.

People will inevitsbly blame him for not using 'common sense' when the players tell him he got it wrong. What if those players were actuslly lying and he believ them? He would be strung up as a fool.

It looks bad but basically i sort of agree. Not the biggest mistake in the world, just a very, very obvious one.
