Being prepared to play for draws in these games, making simple consequential changes in our prematch tactics and plans, and being tactically flexible in response to the game as it happens.

We have to bring in players that can pass and move the ball progressively with pace, at ease and with consistency. AND that know that the primary aim is to put the ball in the oppositions goal as many times as you can for a period of 90 minutes. Whilst stopping them getting near your goal or putting the ball in your net.

That's all that these other teams are doing and it's what the best teams under Wenger did. It's what this team does occasionally and that's why we have not been good enough.

The problem is the players that could do that for us are expensive and we get guzzumped.

Our midfield was different in terms of personnel then, but the players we have, the Ox, Flamini and Rosicky apart, are not really battlers. They are Grace a favour players. We don't have enough players with guile and steel and that's what we need.
