View Full Version : What would our chances of the title look like if we drew with Chelsea and beat/drew with City?

I really want to believe we'll win the title, especially given that Chelsea lost to Villa.

I just still can't believe. We're coming to come up a leetle bit short and finish 3rd :-(

winning all the other games.

Still think we will finish 4th but win the FA cup

City are still the favourites imo. But they can slip up too as can Chelsea.

Liverpool look very strong.
It could be we finish 4th to be honest.

But I really hope we beat Chelsea this time. We owe them a good beating. Wenger needs to break this Mourinho jinx.

But in general I don't think we are playing that great recently. I'll be happy with the FA cup. It's a start.

The league is something I am trying to pretend we are out of not to get upset. Then again we do like winning doubles.

those of City and Chelsea?

I have also discounted any possibility that Liverpool could win the title.

*Then again this is football and it's been a weird league so far. Plus it's the time of the season for relegation fodder to fight for their lives, and there's about 10 of them this year.

City on their heels.

Problem is, he's very good at playing against Arsenal. We will probably be all over them all game, then they will get 2 goals in about 10 minutes and then kill the game.

We really could do with United getting a draw/win against City as well. They can't keep being this **** every single week.

Basically, I need to understand what our remaining fixtures are like compared to City, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Arsenal are going to win the 2013/14 double :cloud9:

I can't believe we hadn't won there in 5 years or whatever it was.

Based on us repeating last season's form ie 8 wins and 2 draws from the last 10.

A repeat of that might be enough to nick it on the line.

My prediction still stands....the team leading with 3 games left could well finish 4th. Will be ultra tight.

Berni

Oddly enough, I fancy us to beat City, though. No idea why.

Who still have a local derby and a game at anfield. We would be well place to take advantage of the games those three sides have against each other.

Would probably need to win at everton as well though. Not sure i see thst happening.

Far from frustration, i would see us getting close as a remarkable achievement. It arguably already is.

The frustration would be the 'what ifs' around losing walcott, ramsey, wilshere and ozil to injuries. Take four players of that signifcance out of liverpool's squad right now and i doubt they would be where they are.

On the plus side, I've just been invited to Paris in May to see "an interactive and immersive virtual reality reconstruction that shows the innovations that made the Normandy landings possible. This will Include an experience inside the most advanced immersive presentation technology available today.

The complete Arromanches artificial harbour, landing craft and gliders will be brought to 3D life in the roles they performed."

Paris, springtime, first class on Eurostar, free food and booze and loads of World War Two geekery - what's not to like? I literally had to stop myself replying to the invitation immediately so as not to appear too keen,

The vehemence of their rebuttal was surprising, I felt. After all, 40 million quid is still very good money. Especially coming from us.

having gotten a new contract signed, they admitted the clause had existed.

The Liverpool owner confirmed the buy-out clause.

And they're all lying.

Right.

Red N White Army

And it suits no-one in the game to see it unravel. Bosman tried and it's held together, just. Webster, people just ignored.

Suarez could, if he'd wished, have forced the issue. But since they made him an improved offer, he didn't and stayed.

What would have been very interesting is if we'd said "oh f**k it, £50m then and you can tell your fans you had another Torres." At the time, I think they'd have taken that.

IMO, we would currently be at least 8-10 points better off and basically have wrapped up the title. Bugger.

Billy Goat Sverige
03-19-2014, 11:36 AM
On. You don't simply ignore a proper buyout clause if it's met. I disagree with the whole idea that they ignored it. It didn't need to be ignored because it meant f**k all.
