We were privileged to see this man wearing a red and white shirt.

No one in the history of football could bring a ball under control as well as this man, no one had a better first touch and maybe only three or four other players shared the same vision and passing ability.

(Clue: It isn't Eddie McGoldrick...)

This is the definition of GENIUS:

Every touch, every move, every pass, all designed purely to provide the perfect pass or shot. Not a good pass - it always had to be the perfect pass.

Did Dennis ever showboat? I don't think so. Zidane couldn't resist it on occasion, Maradona always did it, but Dennis? Never.

He always did precisely what was needed - absolute efficiency.

There should be an Eddie McGoldrick one, especially when deployed as a sweeper for Crystal Palace against Arsenal in the 93 League. Cup semi.

He liked to sit back and pick out the killer pass, but when needed he could take the ball and motor. He could also fill gaps, surprising defenders with the quickness of his runs.

And let's not forget his petulant side! He was known to give out a stamp or two.
