View Full Version : I can't really imagine what it would feel like to win the FA Cup

I suspect it would be something akin to a slightly underwhelming ****. Nice, but leaves you with a nagging feeling you could have been doing something better with your time.

In the sense that it would be great as far as it goes, but at the end of the day would still just be a w@nk?

and worry less about winning the league. I certainly have, as a fan

I remember when winning the FA cup felt more important than winning the title, because the league was a competition that didn't really concern us; it was for the likes of Liverpool to worry about.

It would still be nice, though.

I seem to remember we all got very blase about the whole thing, now we're caught between showing we do actually care and feeling like we should care but not managing to muster the enthusiasm for it.

of pressure for league which will worry our rivals like city and chelsea who are under pressure to win it

we had in years. wins over everton, liverpool, spurs prove it. plaayers like flammi, per and arerta will drive us on to what should be cup glory at 7.10 pm on saturday 17th.

Monty91

It's just a **** competition. 6 games, some of which are against lower league opposition, and most teams rest their players in it!

Any competition in which clubs habitually rest players is by definition ****.

It *is* a shame. The FA Cup used to mean absolutely everything to me, too. But it's utterly devalued and I can't fake it.

What’s not to like.

Day out at Wembley, the exchange of a few pints with like-minded chums, the team you support wins the domestic cup competition and everybody has a great time celebrating.

Okay, it’s not the league but I have enjoyed all the FA Cup finals I have been to.

If, for nothing else, then we can banish that silly "x years without a trophy" thing.

Added bonus being the same people who prattle on about "the magic of the cup" are the same people who bang on about "x years without a trophy" and thus cant really belittle our achievement.

delighted to win it. It's a cup with residual prestige and we've don really well to get this far.

I also appreciate the confidence gleaned through going all the way could help us in the league (and maybe even tomorrow).

But I still don't think it will feel that good to win it. We have bigger fish to fry. We are in a title race ffs!

A little cemetery action, a touch of the Menin Gate blues trumpet solo, some excellent eel in greensauce, and a visit to the St Omer Intermarché on the way home yesterday. Most civilised.

Did you manage to dispose of your excess furniture?

mean that people seem to think it perfectly reasonable to arrange to come and collect stuff and then just not turn up. Hoping to get rid of the bed tonight, though.

Most of my weekend has been spent scrubbing stuff and humping bits of furniture, boxes, etc.
