It may seem a difficult task now because you are so heavily addicted, but it's not going to be anywhere near as difficult as it is for your loved ones to deal with the news that you are dying from lung cancer/throat cancer/any other of the deadly diseases that smoking can cause.

People don't say this stuff for a laugh. It's real, trust me. I see it every day and see how it effects people. Just man up and stop it - you won't regret it.

You owe your job to the tax collected on fags btw

is that for every 2 smokers in the UK, one WILL die early because of smoking related diseases.

It's real, people die every single day from it. And all because they thought it was too hard to give up/didn't think it would happen to them.

I know it's the way it is. But the tax on Cigarettes here is f**king ridicules compared to other places.

Scary packaging doesn't work.

Hiding them away behind a door in tescos is not going to help.

Putting them in plain packets won't help.

intolerable of smokers.

Yet the Staples centre had a roof smoking garden. :cloud9: very rare to find a sports arena with a smoking area.

Hawaii on the other hand are cunds with the smoking. Don't smoke here cross several roads away from the airport to have a puff.

Don't smoke on the beach. Don't smoke near the beach. Don't do this don't do that.

why don't you stop?

It costs you loads of money which you could save for your move.

It makes you f**king stink of stale smoke - very attractive.

It will almost certainly make you extremely ill, which will upset your wife, your family, her family, your kids. Will you cope with the emotional pain as well as the physical pain?

It makes people judge you and think less of you.

And what positives are there? It stops your craving for an hour or so. Just stop for a year and your cravings will stop forever.

You've never smoked, have you? So like most of the other things you hold forth on, you have no frame of reference.

woman in tears who say 'I wish I had just tried harder to stop'. I don't think people actually realise that it WILL happen to them, and when reality hits them, it's quite upsetting for them.

I haven't been doing this job for long enough yet to get desensitised to it yet and, let me tell you, it's awful.

If you did you probably wouldnt be so zealous about it as you'd know it was counterproductive

Rich

you.

It's probably partly a class thing, but also I think people that have to deal with the consequenses of it on a daily basis would think twice.

Perhaps a more mature outlook on the topic would do you good too, F? Don't think that you're above the consequenses, you're not - in fact, if you've been smoking from a young age until now, you're in an even higher risk bracket.

It's your choice, but don't go feeling sorry for yourself on the day you're told you've got lung cancer and have 5 years on your 50th birthday. You've been warned.

very odd.

Don't be one of these people that thinks 'I will give up one day', because that rarely happens.

I just hope that smoking related disease does not catch up with you, I suppose.

I no longer smoke, but can safely say that every adult I've every truly liked or loved in my life has been a smoker at some point.

Smokers are just better, more interesting people than those who never smoke.

Until recently Team Penske used to wear the red-and-white in Indy Cars.

quitting again. That's because - quite simply - smoking is ace. I still think of myself as a smoker - just one that doesn't smoke anymore. I miss it every day.
