Why are we even getting involved and why is anyone else for that matter.
We've gone very quiet on Syria lately, haven't we :rubchin:

"The Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe, to respect the independence and sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine"

So it would seem to me that we have at least some moral obligation in the matter. The degree of such an obligation has to be a matter of politics, some of which will appear grubby and compromised, but hey ho. That's reality.

when circumstances go against their own political interests, I mean, any example will do from the last 500 years or so... :-)

It may, of course, be a complicated matter with the potential for consequences detrimental to the security of the UK and/or its allies.

These matters sit weightily, I'm sure, upon the shoulders of our political leaders.

We arent seriously going to have a tear up with Russia, it's not so much their massive military might we're bothered about but more that we rely on them for more than two thirds of our gas, not to mention a **** load of oil and coal.

Algeria, Norway, Qatar and Nigeria. Apparently.

I'm sorry poor Ukeleles but the furnaces of commerce are hungry beasts and nobody ever got a roaring fire going from admirable political ideals.

It was so much simpler back in the day, you could call me Stalin and I could call you Hitler, Chief would go bat**** about everything even slightly critical of US foreign policy and we'd all end up having a group uhg.

Simpler times, happier times. Oh for it to be 2003 again.

It's all very confusing.

To be honest, I've been waiting for a comment from Owen Jones so I'd know which side not to support.

That's how commerce works. Mutual interdependence.

I thought that would get a rise. That said, I'm really struggling to change my diet and I'm really struggling for things to eat which taste nice but wont kill you, especially for lunch. As someone who has recently significantly reduced their mass what would you recommend in terms of staples?

I mean, the great thing about natural resources is that they dont go off. If anything, especially with increased scarcity, they're appreciating assets.

be very careful with stuff like potatoes, rice and so forth.

Lunchwise, fruit, vegetables and meat are your friends. So soup is good (I recommend butternut squash and paprika) and I also took to eating parma ham and melon for lunch (tasty, but not heavy).

Or you could try rye bread (the proper German stuff) with meat and even cheese if you wish. As long as it's not flour-based, you're OK.

I presume, given the shared paddy genetics, you've managed to somehow replace the stodge factor. I want to feel full, b.

I experimented with beans, pulses and things like parsnips instead, but it's not the same. You're better off without.

And, of course, you MUST forswear sugar.
