ECU fault on my 05 Astra. It won't start. Is an Vauxhall dealer the only place that can fix it?

AA towed it to a local garage who ran diagnostics and said there was an ECU fault (needs recoding perhaps), and only a Vauxhall dealer can do it.

This'll need it towing to Staples bloody Corner (from N19) which will not be fun. Are there any other places who could fix it, or does it definitely have to go to Vauxhall?

spoke to a local specialist in German Marques and they had a BMW reader.

Not sure if there is such a thing as a Vauxhall specialist. Give it a Google.

Now I just have to get the damn thing towed across London :-( I think I'd rather pay extra for a flatbed truck.

Have you tried asking on a Vauxhall owners' forum? (They'll be oddballs, obvs.)
