ComputerWimb I have a problem with my web browsers, in particular Chrome

which I use the most

When I click on objects a new window appears with adverts etc or a new page opens to reveal more adverts and I am diverted to this new page. This is driving me up the wall. It seems particularly bad on the site ! :banghead:

I have looked at my Chrome settings and can't see any problems.

Macafee is running OK
I have installed Ad Blocker and Malwarebytes but it is still happening!

Can anywon suggest a solution please (wiping the screen with my extended knob doesn't work alas)

You probably have an ad thing that has added itself. Disable it and delete it imo.

See if anything has added on recently that you don't know about.

Otherwise run an anti virus scan.

There's an exploit going round at the moment which highjacks Chrome extensions to feed unwanted adverts. Try turning them all off, then turning on individually to find which extension is being exploited.

You mention other browsers. If it is affecting all installed browsers, then you may well have a virus and the best bet is to run a number of anti-malware programs in Safe Mode.
