Fresh from having a chap called Irfan cut my hair and do the ear hair burning thing, I strolled into the neighbouring Turkish supermarket. I found many wonders therein - splendid breads, olives, sausages, Turkish cheese (who knew?), more pulses, grains and seeds than one could shake a stick at,wonderful fruit and veg, unidentifiable but exciting pickled stuff in jars, halva, Turkish coffee and much, much more - and all at low, low prices.

I shall henceforth shop nowhere else. Well done the Turks.
