Just thought I'd drop that in the mix. Always going to be a tough game especially without the likes of Walcott and Ramsey.

We just seemed so lacking in ideas and it was only when the Ox came on that we had a player willing (or able) to make runs off the ball or who seemed to actually relish the physical challenge.

It's painful to say it, but Stoke will have been laughing to themselves. We played exactly the way they'd have expected and responded predictably to their tactics, taking it in turn to foul our key players.

Our only hope was a sympathetic ref, but he was anything but that...
