No offence of course.

The adage about settling is rolled out when form dips, no f**ker mentioned settling when his form was sparkling early in the season as he created chances a plenty.

He may be tiring, in need of a rest, he may not. His form may simply be in a slump, it happens to every player. He may be missing Ramsey as they linked up so well earlier in the season and the Welsh's absence is showing, he may be missing Walcott for similar reasons. He may be missing his mummy ffs.

Pires was a completely different player in his second season. Ozil will do the same.

And the praise he was drawing earlier in the season was as much a symptom of the fee as the criticism he is getting now. Some of those passes were good but not exactly mind blowing.

He is an excellent footballer and will prove it. We havent seen snything from him yet.

Apart from his direct contribution towards a fúck ton of the goals we've scored.

Similar to bergkamp in his first season. Yeah he was good, and at times brilliant, but you knew it was just the start. Same with ozil.

Unless we do something silly like try and turn him into a striker :-)

I would disagree on some of the other points you have made such as "we haven't seen anything from him yet".

Au contraire, we have seen exactly what he can do, the perfect illustration of Mezut Ozil the footballer. What one would hope for if his career with us is to see it much more often or on a much more regular basis.

There is no doubt his game has dipped recently but so have others.

Often one just 'expects' more from such a signing, especially when one is an Arsenal supporter and such a signing is a novelty.

Of course I don't as I understand football.

In fact I think we're possibly only a Giroud injury away from seeing him "leading the line" for a few games.

Anything that gets rosicky more playing time is fine by me.

Rather than 'rubbish'

Ozil will get a lot better. Let us leave it there for now.

My reference to rubbish was merely to support my assertion thus:

"The adage about settling is rolled out when form dips, no f**ker mentioned settling when his form was sparkling early in the season as he created chances a plenty."

Not personal in any way to Ozil, just a comment.

Firstly thst is *******s, secondly it is bloody obvious. Of course people are more likely to look at that issue when he isnt playing well.

Doesnt mean anything at all.

Monty91

does not. Namely, patience in possession. Giroud's first instinct is to do something decisive or dynamic. Unfortunately, he is not Luis Suarez and more often than not he'd be better off giving it straight back to the guy who passed it to him. Ozil is the master of the return pass.

and indeed between strikers and midfielders, even attacking ones.

Giroud plays the way he does because he is expected to score
thirty goals a season. A striker must be a risk-taker by nature. He will not feel that he has the option of passing oftentimes because he is expected to be the tip of the bayonet.

By comparison, Özil can afford to be much more conservative, as his success will often be judged by mere passing statistics.
