actually it is march to first weekend april that is the real test when we have stoke, tottenham, chelsea and everton all away and man city home. If we lose to liverpool and bayern in the cups then we go out of the cups but no bearing on our premiership hopes (apart from psychological). A couple of years ago man city were about 8 points behind manure with about 5 games to go and still won the title. For us march will be a big test every week with no easy games. That is when the chips will be down and maybe having been written off because we are 4-5 points behind may do us some favours.
