We stayed there a couple of times, and the food and stay was superb. Non-guests came just to eat in the restaurant. (It may have changed owner now, so maybe check.)

I very much enjoy a full-blown Chef ego-****ing tasting menu perhaps twice a year. I enjoy the theatre of it, the surprises and the sense of occasion. In general I prefer good brasserie food.

At the moment I keep alternating The Ivy and J Sheekey. That's just the place I'm in, you know? Dull, but comforting.

I very much enjoyed Quo Vadis a couple of weeks ago. The smoked eel 'sandwich' is simply divine.

Was largely unimpressed,I have to say. Glorified gastropub food and full of obnoxious arseholes.

They fúcked up our bill and left off half of what we'd had. Naturally, we paid up and legged it.
