You know me, I'm a man who likes meat. I also like **** battered.
However, I find chip shop battered sausages quite unfulfilling. The tasteless, spongey, cheap sausages just dont really hit the mark.
Just a couple of weeks ago I thought I'd solve this thorny issue and make my own. I got a selection of quality butchers sausages and, in the common parlance, battered the f**k out of them.
The winners were Lincolnshire (king of sausages) but an honorary mention must also go to porl and apple and spicy chorizo.
Batter your own sausages, it's mint!

However, the chip shop battered sausage comes into its own when smeared liberally with the Sriracha. Extra hot, naturally.

in retrospect it was probably an error to go for the little chef style won.
I was surprised Pork & Apple ranked so highly, it's a puff's sausage.

It just doesn't come close to comparing to the real thing. I've changed.

They basically chuck a lot of smoked paprika in a fatty sausage though.

They can shove their tasteless scrambled eggs up their arse.
A colleague always orders over easy and then screams at the staff if they overcook it. I like to get the hell out of there before he kicks off. Its so embarrassing.

together - i mean literally together. You like it because it's traditional, more than because it actually tastes good. Not that it tastes *bad*, but there is certainly an element of the emperor's new clothes going on with pigs in blankets.
