View Full Version : I see the Schalke chairman feels a bit more relaxed about Draxler leaving them in the summer

My main concern is that vultures like the russians, city and PSG will more than double what we can offer and maureen will go out of his way to ensure we don't have him.

What is interesting though is this comment

'If another club comes in for him, then we cannot block them. That would be unfair.

"I don't think he wants to join Bayern Munich, though.'

If we really wanted him. I know Wenger doesn't want to pay over the odds but maybe we had too to ensure to get him.

Unless a deal is already in place or Draxler wants to go to us only. (money can change your mind)

That is what Arsene will ask himself, the pulling power of working for him will in many ways outweigh a few extra grand for a lot of players, at least initially (see Nasri & Adebayor) anyway.

and he can play both in midfield but also in the RvP role (converted) then I would trust Wenger's view on this.

equally if he feels £37m is too much.

2 years ago people were saying Mertesacker and Koscielny would never be good enough, between them they cost about £16m, so sometimes price tags don't equate to quality.

I do worry about that lad on a wet wednesday in Stoke. Or possibly Leicester.

a Champions League place.

In the Summer though, different matter entirely.

is dangerous from a harmony and balance perspective, as much as a financial one.

In fact, in this regard I reckon one more is probably all we can 'afford'

as improving the side must become more difficult the better you are.

don't want to be any better than first.

and it's that spending big doesn't necessarily buy the right player. Obviously if it's an undoubted world class player like Ozil or Aguero this isn't a problem, but you could just as easily spend big money on players that are no better than we already have (Soldado, Lamela, Chadli etc)

but generally if you spend more the chances are you will be signing a better player.

It will be typical spuds if they ditch those players who then go on to show they should have kept them.

basically being sixth or seventh and being top. And also possibly the difference between paying all that money for Draxler, or not.

We're doing better than expected.

not to employ him we would never have employed Wenger

They clearly missed him as much as we would miss Giroud but apparently Manchester City are nailed on for title, whilst we have no hope

big.

As I said above, Mertesacker and Koscielny both cost around £8M (relatively peanuts for centre halves in recent years) which shows quality is available without the need to spend massive amounts of money. Even players like Cazorla, Podolski and Giroud were bought relatively cheaply in comparison to other players.

as a rules don't add players late in the season. Can't remember United doing it too often in their years of hegemony - Larsson on loan being the standout. I remember them signing Vidic and Evra in January one year though they were chasing Chelsea at the time and both signings looked poor for the rest of that season (though subsequently turned out to be superb players of course).

An example the other was would be Jose Antonio Reyes of course

did they have an immediate impact i.e. a player that we would have bought in January that would have made the difference for us winning the PL or not.

This information came from no other than Jan Aage Fjortoft.

One second he is held up as some c**ting ITK oracle and now you are saying his telling untruths.

Make your f**king mind up.
