View Full Version : If AW thought Draxler would improve the team and the money was available then

I can't see the sense in not buying him. If AW felt he wouldn't then fair enough. Remember Xavi Alonso went to Madrid when he was almost on his way to us because rumour has it we wouldn't go the extra million. Point is I suppose that the Chelski/City inflation factor means even average players are expensive. However perhaps Kalou on loan truly represents better value than Drax for 37m.

Maybe I shouldn't listen to the Gillette Soccer Saturday team who all reckoned we missed a trick not getting cover for Giroud in this window

Speaking on November 21, ahead of the Southampton game, Arsene Wenger said: "Diaby will be back in March"

and Bendtner doesn't seem to be the answer. Personally I would like to see a top bid for a Benzema type in the summer

on the left Santi has scored 5 in 5 and therefore should be playing.

to take account of the current market There have been many times over the years where AW supposedly wouldn't meet someones valuation. However of course we are top and have had many years of CL. Just haven't won anything for a long time and maybe a bit extra spend would help us across the line. Seems pointless spending 42 million on Ozil if he is working his magic only for Bendnter to not finish it. That's another reason I cant understand Podolski not getting an extended run while he rests Giroud for a while

surely Crystal Palace and other "lesser" teams are the time to give him that rest. I am not suggesting that Giroud is not first choice just wondering if against Southampton as an example Podolski should have had more than a couple of minutes. despite what some on here think of my opinion I believe Giroud has done a decent job and he has certainly grown on me (and I suspect a lot of others over the season) but I don't believe he is the world class striker needed to make the most of an Ozil

miss a good opportunity to bring someone in, just in case Giroud gets injured you can't rely on the rest. If he does, Wenger looks like a gambler and a numpty and the media will be 100% correct in saying "I told you so", no matter how painful or annoying we find it.

Juventus the same, that perhaps tells us that clubs of good players refuse to sell

Giroud wins the balls and is great at holding it and distributing to our midfields

is staying at Schalke more than 24hrs before the transfer window closed. Man City, PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, anyone could have come in and bid. Wenger never said we didn't discuss a transfer, he said one wasn't happening.

I reckon Podolski is hugely underrated. I would go as far as saying he's our most productive player on the left flank since Pires. He always gets the best out of Giroud too. We still haven't even seen Podolski and Ozil link up either which on paper should work perfectly.

The money being touted for Draxler although a good prospect was obscene. Anything over 15m for a player out with a serious tendon injury would have been ridiculous.
