View Full Version : Just back, the first half was the worst I have seen from an Arsenal team in a very long time

We just couldn't keep the ball and picked up none of the knock downs.

Shouldn't have been a free kick. Then as you say it also looked a foul on Monreal from the resulting free kick.

They absolutely pissed all over us and if they had any quality in the final third it would have been 3 or 4 nil. As it is it was a miracle it wasnt at least two.

Constantly gave the ball away, twice in our own box. Couldnt string two passes tpgether, made no effort whatsoever to press possession and couldnt get out off our own half.

It was actually hard to believe at times. No idea what caused it. Started the second half a completely different team and it was a completely different game.

Just weird.

Soton were incredibly impressive I thought and we would have had no complaints whatsoever if we had been 3-0 down at halftime. How their chap missed that open goal, I'll never know

I don't think Sagna or Monreal played particularly well either

ball away, not just one or two player but all 11 of them; it seems to me as if the were overconfident (I won't use the word arrogant)and Southampton shocked them, bad preparation and I was amazed it wasn't fixed until half-time.

5 minutes after realising that they were making Southampton look like Bayern Munich. I think that we would have done better if they had been more confident

Southampton have taken points against some good teams this season though, so we shouldn't be too disheartened.

missed Jack in the centre, I am not sure we should be playing both Arteta and Flamini as it takes some of our creativity away. I wouldn't mind one of them coming on late in the game to hold on to a lead though; I also understand that injuries had a say in last night's selection.

we don't lose anyone from there with an injury in the next couple of weeks
