sour grapes on his part when of course the option to do exactly what Chelsea have done is open for him too (granted, we are less likely than Chelsea to find a world class player surplus to requirements).

The fact is that he gives his views on all aspects of football – many of which are not even directly relevant to Arsenal. He happens to think it would be in football’s interests to get rid of this transfer window and cites the fact that some clubs end up playing different squads as one reason why :shrug:

He has not made it a hobby horse and he specifically said he doesn't think Chelsea did it explicitly for this reason. He was asked his opinion and he gave it, as always.
