View Full Version : So if Chelsea do sell Mata to Utd do we see this as a sign of them trying to

Meet the FFP requirements? I still don't think they'll sell him to Utd mind you. They wouldn't loan us Ba ffs.

Could've seen it happening after a lengthy period abroad but not now.

reason fans think it won't work is because they are too simple to understand that it doesn't come fully into effect until 2015.

it could also be a sign that Jose et al don't rate United as a force anymore.....compared to letting us have a much needed striker.

he's done with UTD, we still have to have one more go.
By selling Mata to them now he strengthens them in time for them to face both us and city while at the same time shifting an established star out sending a message to the others...my way or highway. Clever little monkey

the same.

Abramovitch just has to sell himself a box for a billion pounds and job done.

They aren't - I hope you understand that.

Read this, and pay particular attention to the 'questionable sponsorship deals' and 'potential loopholes' section.

my link explains. So he can buy a box for £50billion if he likes - it makes no difference.

City also cannot rig up the world's biggest sponsorship deal from a company owned by or afiliated to the owners of the club.

See this: To review such practices, UEFA accountants can review related company deals that might be from a sister company or parent company's subsidiary. Manchester City's deal with the Qatar group falls under such reviews.

The majority of football fans have not done much, if any research into the actual rules of FFP and how they work. You may or may not be one of these people.

and they can't use him in thei games against Chelsea.
Everton have had some decent results against the top clubs this year.
It's another element of why the PL should look a bit closer at the rules surrounding loans.

It's quite simple, the richer someone is the less the rules apply to them.

Your whole argument relies on the iron will and incorruptible nature of Sepp Blatter.

I am telling you that it will work and has to work. There is too much at stake for UEFA for it not to.

I work with a Chelsea fan and this has outlined the fact that different club's fans have different views. He tells me that they need to make hay whilst the sun shines because from 2015 they are not going to be able to have the sort of squad they have now.

I'm sure that the same applies to City fans. Although they're northern and so probably haven't even bothered to listen to what FFP actually is.

Yes, let's talk about it in 2015

Are we allowed to use the profit from that shop on our FFP balance sheet?

Can an Abramovich owned company buy an expensive, profitable golf course in Spain, rename it "La-mpard Manga" which sells Chelsea branded golf equipment and transfer the ownership at a minimal cost to CFC? Can the profits from that then be used on the CFC balance sheet?

Could we have used the sale of the Highbury flats on our balance sheet? Why would this be allowed? Because bricks and mortar used for football purposes used to stand there? In that case, can CFC set up an office in an expensive area which is going to be knocked down and sold for a lot of dosh?

on the basis of their 'fantastic' sponsorship deal. Or maybe Roman's fed up with spunking the cash and wants to rein things in now that there are even bigger sharks than him in the pool.

I really hope for Arsenal's sake that you're right and FFP will actually be enforced. I can only believe it when I see it though.

is because they get the chance to meet ex player Lampard who'll show them how to play golf and sign some shirts. Why shouldn't the profit from this business venture count?

That being the value of this deal, allegedly 40m whereas ours was literally peanuts. Two large bags of.

Mata will 100% be sold in the summer so why not take 40m now, and then spend it.

The fact that the powerful are also rich, and there's a direct correlation between power and wealth, is a complete and utter coincidence.

Correlation does not mean causation.

but I didn't see where it explained how the authorities would enforce FFP despite these loopholes. The article only really outlines that the loopholes existed and that Man City were exploiting them.

So "Some forums have expressed concern at" and "Other commentators pointed to actual and possible loopholes"

It does say that "UEFA accountants can review related company deals" but it also acknowledges the "potential for legal action to overturn the legislation".

For three months so thst he can help them best your otherr ivals, but not you, there is at least a twisted, desperate logic there.

Selling the brilliant player to a rival means he plays against you next season. Makes far less sense

Hardly the end of the world.

The whole selling a player to a rival is an issue for supporters, I imagine it is less so for the clubs as once they decide a player is dispensable then it is often a business decision from there on.
