View Full Version : Second gear? We're told Chelsea and City haven't got started yet but have we?

Look at the players who have yet to quite literally catch fire.

Ozil has gone very quiet since he started so well and I dont think it's unrealistic to expect him to step up a couple of levels between now and may. The same with Santi who is nowhere near his best from last season, he's shown flashes of brilliance but it's mixed with some inexplicably loose passes, see last night's example. Poldi too has been eased back but should be ready to give more and the same with Ox and Jack.

I think it's reasonable to assume that this team has it in them to really step up in the next three or four months and, at the very least, make a reasonable stab at winning the English Preemere League Soccer Bowl.

The big question mark for me is what happens if we're still up there during the home straight. Will we be able to retain the same level of composure that ensures you don't panic when you're 0-0 with 15 to go at home to some nomark club you should be beating.

Similarly, will we have the experience/quality to blow teams away in the first half so we can conserve energy for future battles.

These are huge unknowns and there are many more.

In his previous start, against West Ham, he was by all accounts brilliant.

what's more exciting than a 3 way battle with emote tail wild card of clubs like Everton and Liverpool.

If United could go on a run you'd hear all sorts....Pardew and co will be loving it.

I think the problem is the squad around him.

He's having to share training sessions with the likes of Frimpong and Vermaelen.

He's probably losing footballing braincells everyday :-(

Quite different for this place.

At the moment we're just enjoying being up there - fans and players alike, I think.

My levels have not been up to their usual, um, levels recently. I was lacking a leeeeetle beet of sharpness perhaps.

I just know that there is even more to come from him and I can't wait to see it

Not that it's a criticism, it's quite understandable with the adaptation and all but I do think, to bag the trophy, he'll need to have more of an impact in the final third as opposed to the deeper positions he's excelling in right now.

Arsenal fan: (shouting)FFS Ozil do more!!!
Me:Do more what?
fan:I don't know,fúcking something!
Me:Something like what?
fan:Do more

I think there is a certain exasperation with the fella as we all feel he has still got plenty in his locker
