pasta), but I eat pretty normally now, but it's amazing what you can eat and drink without putting on weight if you burn off nearly 1,000 calories a day running.

I'm very much just a poncer of the odd fag when hammered these days.

diagnosed with Diabetes at 50.
Started cycling a lot, cut down drinking, moderated food intake except for Chinese at home games, delegated more.

And Yes still feel like Sh!t!!!!!

no feel a lot better and have prospect of longer life once business sold so can enjoy fruits of labour instead of just dropping dead.

Definitely stop smoking, apart from fact it makes you and clothes stink it really is dreadful for you. But exercise and watch weight

I'd been shot in the head.

Horrible pain behind the eye for ages.

run for a few months :-(

I regularly walk 8-9 miles a day but how long did it take you to be able to run six miles? I could manage four miles (uphill, from Covent Garden to Archway) at a very gentle jog, but I'm not sure it really counted as running. If I actually ran I'd have to tale frequent walky rests.

If I was in the park and a football came my way. I'd have to think twice before kicking it back. As most likely I'd probably trip over or slip over.

Berni

You run faster when it's warm than when it's cold. Dunno why.

Pat Vegas

maybe jog part then get the bus. Or bus then get off and jog.

Doing the whole journey home is a long way off for me.

Feels good to just take it in your stride and knock it back (relatively close) to the footballers while looking like you do this sort of thing all the time.

Although you'll actually be surprised how quickly you'll be able to get up to doing two or three miles. The fags may be an issue in that regard, though.

I need to find a decent route. I can't be running up and down Green Lanes.

Or I could stand at one end say something horrendous in Turkish and let them chase me.

over 10 miles starting from a base of nothing..its very easy to read and its mainly the running part that got me going from nothing to now best distance so far 19 miles..slowly but surely building up , doing more trail running, hills etc

Though I don't even enjoy smoking anymore either.

Should I buy that or is there an executive summary somewhere that I can steal? I'm not averse to paying for content but the thought of actually buying a fitness book seems like a disturbing road that could end up in the wearing of lycra.

It's not so much vices, as basically all healthy food is joyless fodder that tastes like **** and is a sisyphean task to eat.

I need something to fill me up without making me fat, I think porridge might be the answer.

6 miles then start doing 1 mile 11 min then next at 9 min then a 11 min etc so do 2 to 4 faster 2 and 3 mile runs a week then once a week a slower steady 5 , 6 mile etc within 12 weeks using Fiennes structure you prob be 9 min mile or less , my tip is don't wear headphones just use it as mind relax time n listen to body also if dropping below 11 min mile then walk until U can boost back up to sub 10 ..it ends up as mental as important and stamina people have different max speeds my best mile only 5 min 58 sec at sprint but now can manage half marathon at sub 7 min mile average so its nearly all at just off full speed !
