View Full Version : That whole business below got me thinking about the left/right stuff.

It's funny how that whole paradigm seems less and less important as time goes on yet when arguments do occur it's thrown up as the central point of disagreement. The fact is that the problematic area is generally one of authoritarian/libertarian and the left/right business is little more than a red herring.

Also, I cant speak for anybody else but I'm genuinely unsure of where I sit in this model nowadays. On a personal level I am very much a libertarian but governmentally I tend to side with authoritarian stuff.

I've only had three pints all week :-( and they were purely medicinal after sitting through the hobbit

I am off the juice at the moment due to docs test. It appears I am far too muscleey.Well that or I use them so little that they are now producing a chemical which is telling me I should get up and move a bit. I wonder which of the 2 it will prove to be?

9 fillums in total. Add this to Breaking bad and Mad men and I have a lot of intensive viewing coming up

issue. The "small government" people here in the US (with respect to government programs to assist people/taxes) are the ones who want to use government to force others to live according to Christian morals "because we're a Christian nation"

The other sad thing about this is how all the anti-government abuse "Liberals" who railed against Bush have gone so quiet or evem support Obama when he does worse abuses.

So yeah....it's conditioned response.

Seriously though, I can't think of a better character in literature than Tyrion Lannister. (But it's early here...I guess Quijote comes to mind as a rival...)

Bron is a much better character in the TV series - those two are great together

Personally, I take the view that there are chaps with a sound bottom of good sense (me, Sir C, Boris Johnson and dear old Willy Hague) and everyone else, who is either a communist, a loony, or a loony/communist.

And then there are women. There's no accounting for them at all.

And anyway, they're all loonies and communists. Apart from the posh ones.

casts that series. Sterling work - haven't had a miss yet. Some argue against Tyrion being so good looking but his acting is brilliant.
