Totti on Gervinho in Il Messaggero: I saw him play 2 or 3 times at Arsenal, but from up close he's a beast.Totti on Gervinho: "If he were to score goals too he would be Cristiano Ronaldo and Roma would never have signed him

Strange how some players just don't do it in some leagues/clubs

World's best striker leaves on a free transfer... :-)

And the fact he was roundly booed for the best part of two seasons.

always looks very good indeed for Cote D'Ivoire

He could run with the ball and was quick. He wasnt good at anything else.

About right for an average team who need someone who can 'make things happen' in the broadest of senses- a villa or sunderland.

He was a bad fit for us.

Not the best player in the world by any means but the point is I wonder how good he could have been with some support.

he was very raw for a 24-25 year old, which was his problem. His decision making was the thing that he struggled with

He wasn't ****. Having c**tards booing him cannot possibly have helped.

And his finishing, crossing and passing were average at best. Anything he offered, we already had someone better. If you need pace, we have theo who can also cross and finish. You want someone to carry the ball and beat people we have cazorla who can also do everything else with a football. We also have the ox.

With cazorla, theo, ox and podolski the options on the flanks he wasnt going to get games with us. His only hope was as a striker and his finishing and touch simply were not good enough, otherwise he would have been a useful alternative for giroud.

Sometimes players aren't raw-they just aren't very good. He wasnt very good and wasnt good enough for us. Had he been particularly good at any aspect of playing in a forward line then we could have used him.

perhaps he also lacked the intelligence to be good enough. He certainly had the ability, as there are occasions where he did produce little pockets of genius.
