In Dean’s last 20 League matches with Arsenal, the Gunners have only won three times.

Sauce: (7am kickoff)

Presumably this is because Chelsea are six times better than Arsenal.

Although I think I speak for the majority of sane people when I say.......

we usually lose them.

Chelsea usually win them.

The second time he did the little jump-of-joy disproves the theory about the first being 'checking it was over the line'.

Here are some stats removing the 'bigger' games - but they are for his whole career including the earlier days when we were a better side, and used to get better results in his games (and David Dein was a bigshot at the FA, but that is beside the point ;-) )

Quote:

Mike Leslie Dean’s refereeing record with Arsenal: 18-14-14. 46 matches, 68 points, 1.48PPG, 2 penalties for Arsenal, 5 against.
If you take away the United games Arsenal are 17-13-11, 41 matches, 64 points, 1.56ppg, 2 penalties for Arsenal, 4 against.
If you further take away Chelsea games Arsenal are 16-12-9, 37 matches, 60 points, 1.62ppg, 2 penalties for Arsenal, 4 against.
If you take away Man City matches Arsenal are 16-11-8, 35 matches, 59 points, 1.69ppg, 2 penalties for Arsenal, 4 against.
If you take away Liverpool matches Arsenal’s record doesn’t change because Mike Leslie Dean has never refereed an Arsenal-Liverpool match.
If you take away Spurs matches Arsenal are 15-8-7, 30 matches, 53 points, 1.77ppg, 2 penalties for Arsenal, 3 against.
Arsene Wenger’s record against all clubs is around 1.99ppg.

Here we are still below our average ppg, even after subtracting the big games.

I gather that when officials apparently celebrate goals it's more of an "I love it when playing an advantage leads to a goal", type affair. They get UEFA bonus ref points for it, I'd supposed :-(
