When I worked for the govt they flatly refused to support my iphone, claiming it was insercure and didnt work properly with their exchange server.

It wasnt, well not any more than the blackberries, but they didnt appreciating that it did actually work.

I suspect it's mostly about laziness but I think pretty much everywhere is more device agnostic now, and obviously there's huge cost benefits if everyone uses their own kit.
