people being murdered, raped, etc in prison? It's like you don't get the point.

is much to do with supporting the rule of law.

Rich

your children, what would you like to do/see done to him. I should imagine you'd want him to suffer an immense amount.

If I were him I'd rather be dead than spend 35 years in jail anyway. I always think that it's bizarre that people on death row would rather spend the rest of their lives in solitary confinement than just die and have it all over with.

Monty91

whilst also being anti-death penalty.

PSRB

not saying is sentence harsh more that murderers get way with.......well, murder

Rich
12-18-2013, 03:32 PM
in confinement where the only person you speak to is a prison officer; which would you pick?

Snin
12-18-2013, 03:32 PM
so he's suffering more than death penalty..so well done the uk system of law.. plus death sentence isnt cheap either as obviously for it to be safe have never ending appeals, retrials etc ..

Snin
12-18-2013, 03:33 PM
pretty one way imo BUT for most death easier hence living more of a punishment

Berni

Emotion has no place in the law, thank God.

Berni

things you do if you didn't know the law was there to protect you? Of course not. So your support for the rule of law is implicit, old chap. You can't have it both ways.

Berni
12-18-2013, 03:39 PM
Which, of course, is both promise and prohibition.

Rich

This ignorance is not a thing of which you should be proud. The King James Bible underpins our culture. You probably use phrases from it all the time without knowing it.

Are you doing it for a bet?

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
12-18-2013, 03:57 PM
It turns out it's surprisingly alright. A little dull on occasion, but alright.

I'm going to go on a massive bender when I get home, mind, and probably OD.

at all that it provides any net health benefits.

It's an utterly barbaric procedure and I honestly expected better of you.

Berni

I suppose that when you do get back on it, it will go further. At least for a while...until you're back up to speed...so, a day or so, maybe?

are in a kind of denial in the same way that, for example, women who willingly wear burkhas seem blind to the fact that it is an enduring symbol of female oppression?

Berni

And since when did circumcision make one's old chap 'smooth'? http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/ohwell.gif

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
12-18-2013, 04:08 PM
It's an interesting experiment but no more than that. As you know I lead a very ascetic existence save for a little drink here and there, the odd cigarette and the occasional line. One wouldn't wish to become extreme in these matters.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
12-18-2013, 04:10 PM

You could research things like what damage the cocaine industry does to the Amazon or something and use it as a reason to feel superior to people. A lot of people get their jollies in this way, it seems. It's just an option.

By the way, I'm unlikely to be down your way again until after Christmas, so when are you back so I can give you both your pressies?

NOT Nicosia. Now banned.
